Reading the numbers

Ping	Round-trip time. <30 ms great, >100 ms hurts calls/gaming
Jitter	Ping variation. >30 ms causes choppy VoIP/Teams calls
Down	How fast you receive — streaming, downloads, browsing
Up	How fast you send — video calls, backups, file uploads

Getting odd results?

Test over ethernet where possible — Wi-Fi is the most common bottleneck. Close cloud-backup and video apps first. On a VPN, you're measuring the VPN tunnel. If this test is slow but a CDN-based test (fast.com) is quick, the slowness is on the route to this server, not your line.
